Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

OnceCast is a web app for content creators at oncecast.app. It helps you answer comments, cut videos into clips, and publish and schedule posts across social platforms. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, what we do with it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

ONCECAST LTD is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 17460249. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. We operate OnceCast and are the "controller" of your personal information for the purposes of UK data protection law. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@oncecast.app.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address and a password (stored by our authentication provider in hashed form — we never see it).

Accounts you choose to connect. When you connect a platform, we store the access credentials it gives us so OnceCast can act on your behalf: OAuth tokens for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok; an app password for Bluesky; an access token for Mastodon. We never ask for or store your main password for any of these platforms.

Information we read from connected accounts, only to show it back to you and to power the features you use:

Content you create in OnceCast. Posts you schedule, captions, hashtags, media files you attach to a scheduled post, AI reply drafts, saved captions in your content library, and the "voice" description you set.

Payment information. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We store your plan and its status. We never see or store your card details — those go directly to Stripe.

Email lists. If you join our mailing list we store your email address. If you use OnceCast's newsletter feature, the email addresses of your subscribers are stored on your behalf — for those, you are the controller and we act as your processor.

Usage counts. We count how many AI actions each account uses per day, to apply plan limits and protect the service from abuse.

What stays on your device

The clip splitter and auto-captions run entirely in your web browser. When you split a video or generate captions, the video is processed on your own device and is not uploaded to us. A video only leaves your device if you choose to post or schedule it, at which point it is uploaded so it can be published.

How we use your information

Nothing is posted to your accounts without you. Replies, captions and posts are drafted for you to review; OnceCast publishes only what you approve or schedule.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. There are no third-party adverts on OnceCast.

AI processing

Features marked with ✨ use an AI model provided by Anthropic. When you use one, the relevant text is sent to Anthropic to generate the result — for example a comment you want to reply to, your video titles, a video transcript, or the line you typed. This happens only when you press the button. Anthropic processes this data to return the result to you and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. AI output can be wrong: please check anything before you approve it.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers, only to run OnceCast:

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred internationally, it is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

YouTube and Google data

OnceCast uses YouTube API Services to let you connect your YouTube channel. By connecting it, you are also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

With your permission, OnceCast accesses your channel information, your videos and their statistics, the comments on your videos and video captions. We use this only to show it to you inside OnceCast, to draft replies and suggestions for you, and to publish the replies and videos you approve. We store the connection token and the drafts you create; we do not store copies of your videos or your comments beyond what is needed to show them to you.

OnceCast's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke OnceCast's access to your Google data at any time via the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Questions or complaints about how we handle your data can be sent to hello@oncecast.app.

Cookies and browser storage

OnceCast does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics. We do store a small amount of information in your browser's local storage so the app works and remembers your choices: your signed-in session, and preferences such as light/dark theme, your favourite platforms, watermark text and caption style. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings — you'll simply be signed out and your preferences reset.

We do keep a simple count of how the site is used — for example how many people opened the clip splitter on a given day, and whether visitors arrived from a search engine or a social platform. These are totals only. We do not store your IP address, a cookie, a device or user identifier, the pages you personally viewed, or anything else that could identify you or follow you between visits, and these counts are never shared with an advertising network. You cannot be singled out from them, by us or by anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. Revoking OnceCast's access on a platform stops the stored token from working straight away; to have the token itself erased, ask us to delete it (for Facebook and Instagram this happens automatically when you remove OnceCast in their settings). If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except anything we must keep by law (for example, payment records, which we keep for the period tax law requires).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

To use any of these, email hello@oncecast.app. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Deleting your data

To delete your OnceCast account and data, email hello@oncecast.app from the address on your account. You can also remove OnceCast's access at any time from each platform: for Google use the security settings link above; for Instagram, go to Settings → Apps and websites; for TikTok, Settings → Security → Apps and services. If you remove OnceCast from Facebook or Instagram, we automatically receive a deletion request and delete the data we hold from that connection.

The legal basis we rely on

We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for), for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse, to comply with the law, and with your consent for marketing emails.

Children

OnceCast is not intended for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes we'll tell you by email or in the app. The latest version is always on this page, with the date at the top.
